Welcome to day 7 of lockdown! I feel it has really taken me a week to get my head around this situation and what it means for me and my little Bristol flower empire that I have spent the last 15 months building up from scratch. I know people are in way worse situations than me and my heart goes out to them. I just want to touch base with all of my lovely flower clients so that you know where I am and where I am going with this... This is not the end of Isabloom Floral Design, I will be back as soon as I can and we will be stronger than ever!
So many of you have contacted me in the last week wanting to send flowers in Bristol to loved ones and order things like funeral arrangements and it breaks my heart to have to say 'no'.
The suppliers are closed until further notice and I am at home deep in admin work adhering to government guidelines and only leaving the house for a one hour walk per day. I really hope you are all doing the same (excluding key workers). As I sit here writing this looking out of the window I could really cry at the sad state of the world, but I am not going to do that. I am going to use this time to do the things I never get time to do, work behind the scenes on my business and focus on myself and loved ones staying well. This means the minute this is over I can jump straight back in to work with the backing of my amazing suppliers and provide you with the beautiful blooms you all deserve! I would just like to give a special mention to my suppliers; Flowervision Bristol who donated all of the left over flower (there was a lot) to NHS workers on the front line. I am sure they made many people smile who really deserve it. I know the nation is in total awe of the NHS heroes and supermarket staff and all of the other key workers right now but I also just want to express my gratitude to them.
So what is happening behind the scenes here at Isabloom Floral Design in Bristol? I have closed my online flower shop for the time being and cannot take any pre orders until this situation is over and it is safe to do so.
My flower contracts have all been paused and my heart goes out to the businesses who support me and have weekly flower displays delivered to them who have also been forced to close. We will be pressing play on these contracts as soon as we can.
Then there is the weddings. Wedding flowers make up a large part of my flower business and my first year was such a huge success I really could not have asked for anything more. My heart was filled at the end of 2019 with all the amazing weddings I had worked on and the feedback from all of my lovely couples.
I managed to complete the first two weddings of the year before we went into lockdown and I was so excited for an even busier season in front of me. Unfortunately many weddings in the coming months have had to be postponed and it has been heartbreaking seeing my clients having to go through this.
I have been in close contact with my couples who know I am there for them every step of the way. We are working together to arrange new dates for later in the year or for 2021. What we have to remember is the health and safety of ourselves and our families is the most important thing right now and you will get to have your dream day and we will get to work together and do you know what? Your day is going to be even more special than you could have ever imagined following this! Having all of your loved ones in one room is going to mean the absolute world to you and it just means now you have more time to plan and save (once this is over) for every little wedding detail you have ever dreamt of. I am going to work on a blog post for next week which details all of my top tips on postponing your wedding with a positive spin on it. So watch out for that one!
My heart also goes out to all of the other amazing wedding suppliers out there. I have been in touch with many friends in the wedding industry who have also had a tough week. Don't worry guys we have got this and we have got each other!
For now I am thankful for wedding proposals meaning I can put my floral creativity to good use! Late summer, autumn and 2021 are now booking up pretty quickly due to postponements and people wanting to secure their 2021 dates. If you would like to arrange a video wedding flower consultation then please get in touch and we can arrange. Following this I can then send you a pretty proposal with a breakdown of costs and we can work towards booking in your special day together.
If you are postponing your wedding to a completely different time of year then we will need to do another consultation to discuss what will be in season etc. I will be in touch to book this in with my existing couples. I know you are working hard to re arrange all of your suppliers currently.
Alongside that it will be accounts and books galore for me which fills me with dread! I am not a sit at a desk all day kind of girl as you may have imagined!
Whatever situation you may be in right now just stay as strong as you can. I will be sharing lots of pretties over on Instagram to brighten up your day. Stay in touch and I look forward to delivering to your door soon.
Lot's of love,
