Believe it or not we are about to enter the summer season and leave the bulbs of Spring behind us. I wanted to share with you our top 5 beautiful seasonal blooms we will be working with throughout the summer season... Summer is probably our favourite season of the year for blooms as it is the best time for British Grown. British summer flowers blossom in our summer months thanks to the warmth and light and it makes us so happy to source our flower stock locally and not contribute to the air miles as most flowers are flown in from Holland.

Peony

I do not know many people who do not love a peony. Around for a short season with their peak in May, June and July they are always very sought after for events such as weddings. They make a beautiful addition to a bridal bouquet and provide a heavenly scent. Peonies are available in tones of white and pink with some opening to reveal vibrant yellow centres. You can find a peony in the palest of blush colours all the way through to stand out coral. There is no better feeling than having a bunch of fresh peonies that look like little golf bowls and watching them bloom into the most beautiful flower day after day.

Hydrangea

Hydrangeas are a beautiful large headed flower that really creates that wow factor in any design. One one flower head you will find numerous petals and little flowers they are so stunning. We love the wide range of colours available from pale pastels to deep luxurious shades and everything in between.

Foxglove

The foxglove is a beautiful tall stem flower. The bumble bees agree with us that these are one of the prettiest summer blooms. You will often find them buzzing in and out of the buds. Foxgloves have such gorgeous detailing on them when you look up close with their own individual little patterns. Again these are available in a wide range of colours. They add such beauty to a seasonal summer wedding.

Cosmos

When we think of cosmos we just think of summer! Cosmos are such a gorgeous simple little summer bloom that add so much joy to any bouquet design. You will mostly find them in pink and white with yellow centres but there is a special variety that excites us every time we use it. The chocolate cosmos in a dark brown is actually scented of chocolate. They look and smell gorgeous and their deep colour adds a real touch of luxury to any bouquet.

Dahlia

Dahlias come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours and are around for the summer and continuing into the beginning of autumn. The Cafe au Lait variety is a keen summer favourite of ours. A large headed flower that creates a wow factor wherever it goes. Another keen summer wedding favourite the neutral tone just cannot be beaten. Going into late summer, early autumn we love picking out the warming tones of reds and oranges in the dahlias.
