Lois and Jason added a touch of the tropics to the countryside this summer!
On this dreary and dull Novembers day we want to take you back to some summer lovin' with the brightest wedding we have ever done... Lois and Jason tied the knot back in the summer in the gorgeous countryside village of Chew Magna on the outskirts of Bristol. We won't talk about the covid cancellations but instead just focus on the most beautiful day that finally went ahead with no restrictions in place. The ceremony took place in a beautiful quaint local church followed by a private marquee reception on the farm!
We were so happy when Lois just decided to go all out with the bright tropical theme which was coming through from her table decorations. Lois had pineapples sprayed gold for her table numbers along with bright pink glassware and napkins against tropical leaf printed stationary. She was happy for me to take the lead on the flowers and go crazy with the theme and colours which of course I did! The wedding day turned out to be quite a grey and wet one so the flowers just completely transformed and uplifted everything. The wedding flower collection consisted of a combination of bright colours; pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens. The seasonal flowers we chose had to include one of Lois's favourites; the peony so we went with the incredible deep luxurious pink variety. We then had sunflowers, South African daisies, daises, cloud gyp, wax flower, protea, anthurium and poppy seed heads all complimented by bright pink ferns and tropical greenery.
This really was one of my favourite ever bridal bouquets to create it was such a statement and complimented Lois's gorgeous sequin dress just perfectly on the day. We went oversized with the bouquet and just filled it with blooms. It really did have the wow factor. The bridesmaids then had a smaller version which looked lovely with their sage dresses. The trailing pink ribbons on all of the bouquets look so gorgeous in the photographs. The flower girls had brightly coloured dried flower hoops that they can keep. They look beautiful hung on the bedroom wall or door. The buttonholes featuring an anthurium looked so lovely and unique and really stood out on the photographs. Lois also mentioned how the groomsmen even commented on them which doesn't often happen!
In terms of decorating the venues with flowers we created two large milk churn displays in the church with all the tropical blooms and colours which were complimented with pew ends down the aisle. The bright colours really made the church pop and gave everyone a taste of what was coming. The pew ends stay in the church as a sign of respect but the milk churns were then taken across to decorate the entrance of the marquee.
The before and after of the marquee really was crazy. Because of the low lighting from the weather on the day it was rather dull when we first arrived as just four white walls. Then as the tables were laid and we added bottles and jars filled with tropical flowers it was transformed into a beautiful and uplifting space full of cheer and colour ready for The Smith's guests.
This wedding will forever stand out in our minds as it just made us so happy! It is always lovely to work on something unique and full of colour.
We also did a flower crown workshop for Lois's camping hen do so it was lovely to meet all of her bride tribe before the wedding and give them a taste of what was to come.
We wish The Smith's all the best for the future and hope to see the lovely Lois soon. Team Isabloom x
