The lovely Mr and Mrs Sargent tied the knot on 12th March 2020 in the gorgeous Orangery located in the grounds of Tortworth Court. I am so pleased that the wedding was able to go ahead just before the UK lockdown and the couple got to have their dream day. I know it meant so much to them.

I first met Amy back in August 2019 when we met for a coffee in Bristol to discuss her wedding flowers. Amy had a pretty clear idea of what she wanted her wedding flowers to look like. She had saved lot's of images that inspired her and it was clear from the start that the couple wanted a really classic look. The flower colour scheme was going to be fresh whites and greens which was perfect on a sunny Spring day. Amy was also quite clear on the types of blooms that she liked. The flower choices she liked were in keeping with the classic look; roses, ranunculus, gypsophila and eucalyptus. Although Amy wanted the flowers to be classic she didn't want them to be too structured and wanted for them to have a wild, natural feel. Due to this I introduced Amy to some Spring blooms that would provide this look; tulips, veronica, astrantia and wax flower. Once Amy had gone away and looked up these flowers she fell in love with them and they were added to the list! I love using tulips for a Spring wedding as they are such a beautiful bloom and only around for a short period of time. Amy was really excited to have tulips as part of the wedding flower collection.

Amy had a lovely intimate bridal party with two bridesmaids. The bridesmaids bouquets were created using wax flower, tulips and eucalyptus and were so simply elegant. Amy then had a larger bouquet with a mix of all of the wedding flowers in a classic shape with a natural feel to it. The grooms party of eight had classic button holes with a white rose and greenery. There were then some corsages for mums and grandmothers which were created using ranunculus and wax flower. It is so nice when the close family all tie together in images with their flowers and this is what Amy wanted.

In terms of decor, the couple wanted pew ends for the ceremony which were simple and elegant posies tied to the backs of the aisle chairs along with a small vase display for the ceremony table. The Orangery at Tortworth Court gets transformed from the ceremony room into the reception room. For the reception there would be a classic layout of a long top table and round tables. The top table would be decorated with a long and low centre piece in keeping with the colours and flowers of the wedding. The table flowers would be the same but a mix of arrangements into tall glass vases and low round displays. I would add white hydrangeas into the table displays to add depth of colour. The cake would also be decorated with fresh flowers.

Myself and Amy kept in touch throughout and met for our final wedding consultation in January 2020. This is when we confirmed everything and nothing had really changed apart from the table numbers. It was nice to see Amy and catch up before the day. We confirmed all of the timings and details and all that was left for me to do was order the flowers before getting creative! The flowers arrived two days before the wedding and I spent the morning conditioning them and leaving them to slightly open over night. The next day all of the prep was done and I was ready for set up. On the wedding day, I arrived nice and early and set up for the ceremony. I then created the tall glass vase displays on site as I would not risk travelling with those. Before leaving I delivered all of the buttonholes and bouquets before returning home to smash Mother's Day weekend!

I loved working with Amy and I am so glad they got to have their dream wedding day despite what was happening in the world. I know they have had to postpone their honeymoon but Amy did not let anything bother her or upset her on the day. I wish Mr and Mrs Sargent all the happiness and love for their future. Thank you for choosing Isabloom Floral Design as your wedding florist.

Isabloom Floral Design was recommended to me by my photographer for our wedding day and I’m so glad I went with her recommendation. I had previously seen another florist who left me feeling a little overwhelmed however when I met Isabelle she instantly filled me with confidence with her knowledge on flowers. She helped to advise me on what flowers were in bloom, how to style them and so much more. Due to this very difficult time during the last month she also had to make some last minute changes to the flowers we had chosen but she kept me in the loop the whole time and I knew that whatever she did they would be amazing and she didn’t disappoint! The flowers looked incredible and turned out even better than I had hoped. Everyone wanted to take a centrepiece home. Thank you so much Izzy x
